Going Green

I believe it's our responsibility to be as Green as possible. Cleaning up the environment and helping out mother earth...right?

But don't you think it's also important to consider your responsibility to your own health, as well.

Now I realize what I'm about to share isn't "new" information, by any means. But since I've moved out of the "land of denial" and moved into (what I like to call) the "land of clarity"; these not-so-new ideas have a "new" meaning for me.

Two things we've learned on The Daniel Plan are to "cut out" the sugar and drinking more water.

I don't know about you, but for me sometimes water can get just a little boring, but it is sooo important in the weight loss process and in the maintenance of a healthy body.

Raise your hand if you're one of the millions that is addicted to coffee lattes (full of sugar and caffeine)

The new solution for me...drink tea! (Hot tea can even fool your body into feeling full) And for an even healther choice, green tea (which has so many benefits - with a potential to fighting cancer and heart disease).

My hubby and I've had some fun searching for the best tasting Green Teas. Yes; my hard-core coffee lovin' hubby is now drinking tea. (Oh - he still has his one cup of coffee in the morning, but now sweetens with honey & creams with Soy).

Here are a few suggestions for some tasty tea...

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has some alternative green teas (with natural infused flavor). Two I would recommend are:

Blueberry Peach

Japanese Cherry

If you're a regular at Starbucks, you might consider their Tazo Zen (which is really delish). It has a hint of mint and lemon.

If you're looking for sweetness, consider adding a little raw honey and some Soy milk. This seems to satisfy my "latte" needs.

And being that summer is just around the corner, ice tea will be something I plan on blogging about in the future.

Remember, just a little change here and there can make a big difference in the long run.

By the way, I'm just curious if you actually raised your hand? Because it was metaphorically speaking you know.

Until next time, make healthful choices.

Ohhhhh, the teas sound delish, especially the Blueberry Peach. I'll have to try to find me some of that . . .
