Table for Six (and two dogs)

Santa arrived early this year. About one and a half month's early!

That's right...


Last weekend our brand new dining room table and chairs were delivered and it's beautiful!

Our oak dining room set was donated to our postal carrier. It's nice to know that "it's gone" to a good home.


We weren't fans of the white with splashes of gold fabric the chairs came with, so yesterday Jim recoverd the 6 new chairs with a brown suede. I assisted him with the first one but was short on time as I was feverishly working to complete my third (yes - third) baby blanket. (See Monday's blog for more details on the blankets.)

Back to the table and chairs...


So today we went and purchased some dining table linens (a runner, placemats and napkins) from Crate and Barrel (Jim's favorite store).


I'm torn because I like Crate and Barrel, Pier 1, and Cost Plus World Market. But Jim is not a fan of Pier 1; and we couldn't find a thing at Pottery Barn.


Anyway, we agreed on the linens and here's a look at the completed project.

"Thank You, Santa (aka Jim)" for the beautiful table and chairs. And table linens, too!
