This is very exciting for our Church at "Saddleback" in Lake Forest, CA.

Our church is actually hosting the first talk between Obama and McCain.

We thought about attending the event but unfortunately we will be out of town next weekend. And now that I think about it, it might be a good thing to avoid the area, as we live within walking distance of our church and I'm certain it will be a zoo (with media, secret service, etc.).

The following is an excerpt from an e-mail Pastor Tom (senior pastor at Saddleback) sent to members of Saddleback. I thought I would share it as prayers are very powerful and your prayers are appreciated.

"...You can pray that God will give Rick wisdom as His servant - especially as he speaks to the media each day and as he prepares for the Forum with Senators McCain and Obama on the 16th. Pray the truth of this verse that Rick sent over to some of us this morning: 'Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.' Psalm 115:1 (NIV) Your prayers mean more than you could ever realize!!"
