It's been a while since I last blogged. Mostly because I've been busy on the weekends.

The month of May started off with my dear friend, Karen and her hubby, visiting us from the Big Island. They joined us on a Sunday morning at Saddleback Church. We then spent part of the day in Laguna Beach (where the weather was simply beautiful). We had lunch, we walked on the beach, window shopped, talked a lot and finished up the day around 5 p.m. It was so great to be able to spend such quality time (especially because they live across the ocean (literally).

The next weekend found me in Rocklin, visiting my buddy and her family. I flew in on Thursday evening. Friday we had massage/facial appointments (ahhh, the life). We shared a very tasty lunch and finished of the day relaxing at her beautiful home. Saturday we found ourselves in Auburn (about 25 minutes away) at a Renaissance fair. We walked around for about one and half hours. Robin played a game where you try to get a rat into a floating ship and try to sink it. Alas, she did not win; but it was entertaining nonetheless (see for yourself).

We did see some pretty great costumes. Those folks were really getting into it and "playin' the part". (Ahhh - to be a renaissance geek. Ha!)

It was pretty warm so we headed back down the hill to Rocklin, had some lunch then hit the local mall. It must have been a day for watches. Why? Because I was finally able to find that perfect watch and use the anniversary gift card my husband gave to me. Robin found a lovely watch at Macy's (and got a killer deal, I might add). It was the day before Mother's Day, so the sales were everywhere.

Sunday I flew home in the afternoon and my folks picked me up from John Wayne airport and we had a tasty dinner at Crab Cooker (to celebrate Mother's Day, of course).

Jim left last Saturday for his "annual" trip to Moab, Utah where he, his brother and dad enjoyed rock climbing (in their jeeps). He was gone a week and returned home (in one piece) this Friday.

Big Brother (Jim) in the lead, Newbie (Dad) in the rental, and Dr. Chee (Jerry) making sure Newbie doesn't go off a cliff. Good job, Jerry!

(that smile doesn't speak "fear", does it?)

Well that's it for now. Jim and I are planning a trip together next weekend (Memorial Day) to visit my girlfriend and her hubby in Arizona. We'll be 0celebrating Chris' birthday. I'm so glad she was born in May.
Stay tuned for more pics, fun, and an update. Until then...

What a fun couple of weeks you have had! I can't wait for you to come out next weekend. Be sure to bring swimsuits as we should be having a really nice weekend. Oh, and be prepared to drink lots of Brian's beer.
