How I got started blogging?

A friend of mine put me up to the challenge. The challenge was to answer "I Am" on my blog. Well, I really didn't have a "blog". So, now I do. Thanks Chris.

If you could have only seen me trying to figure out how to upload the picture of me and Pru in the profile (Photo by Cat). Good grief! Talk about a challenge. I guess you could say I had a "photo upload" block. It's a no brainer posting a picture in a blog, but for some reason the profile picture was tricky for me. You have to know where to find the "html link" to paste into a certain box. Huh?!?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but am I the only one that had a problem with this? Well, if I am, don't tell me. It'll knock the wind from my sails.

Let me share with you another blogging failure. And in doing so, when you take the callenge and start your own blog (hopefully) I'm saving you from the same frustrations.

The first "brilliant" blog I wrote was erased. Sure it was "brilliant". Just ask my husband, Jim. He was disappointed that I didn't start this blog out like the original blog. Why? Because he was mentioned in the first and he's wondering why he wasn't mentioned in this blog. The funny part - it's our blog, hence the name "Bloggin with the Blacks". I'm bound to mention him here and there. To prevent "accidental erasure" make sure you "Save" before you "Preview". Otherwise, your first brilliant blog will be lost and that's a bad thing.

And, being that this is my "First" blog. I should probably introduce you to the the friend that started this challenge (or is it insanity?). Her name is Chris and she's a wonderful person to know. You can check Chris out at her blog: A Very, Very, Very Fine Life.

I believe we met sometime in 1995 (Wow! 11 years?)

Chris and I were neighbors in Lake Forest, California. I lived upstairs, and she lived directly below me. I was always concerned if I was making too much noise. I say this because I've lived below elephants (I'm certain) and didn't want to be "THAT" neighbor upstairs. One day as I was working out on my Nordic Trak. (A Nordic Trak is a machine that replicates the motion of cross country skiing. At least the person who is on the machine replicates the motion.) Chris heard a strange noise and came upstairs to investigate. I answered the door and she said "Hi. I'm Chris and I was wondering if your dishwasher was broken?"

You may be asking yourself why a dishwasher? Believe it or not, there were some similarities in the sound the dishwasher makes (swish swish) and the Nordic Trak. So there you have it - how we met. And even though Chris lived below "Elephants" we have become steadfast friends and I'm grateful for that.

In conclusion (yep, there is an end to this rambling), I'm looking forward to "Bloggin" and I hope you take the challenge and try it out yourself. As for the "I Am" challenge; it will be my second blog. Look for it in days to follow. Just ask my husband, Jim. He said it took me days to write this first blog. It really didn't (just a few hours), but to Jim it was days.

"See Honey", I mentioned you several times in this rewrite.
